| GENERAL
As at today we operate two packs, namely "The
Golden Quill" and "The Scarlet Feather".
Our packs are both co-educational meaning we're mixed. Within
each pack, cubs are broken into small groups called "Sixes".
Currently we have eight sixes, four in every pack. The colours
are White, Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Maroon, Brown and Grey
Six.
THEME
The Cub Scouts are based on Rudyard Kipling's "The
Jungle Book". It provides a sense of outdoor adventure
and fantasy that appeals to a Cub's imaginative mind. That's
why we are called Cubs and all cubs are referred to a "Pack".
Leaders are called using jungle names like Akela, Bagheera,
Baloo, Raksha...etc. These were animals who helped Mowgli
(the missing boy) survive in the jungle. And Leaders are
compared to these animals, helping cubs to develop a good
character and discipline.
LEADERS
Leaders are all on voluntary basis. At the moment
we have 6 fully qualified Leaders and another 6 undergoing
training within our packs. Together we plan and
work towards one goal.....that of giving cubs a good time
while learning team-work, discipline and indipendence. |
