This time it was time for the Link Badge Training Camp to take place.
This camp was set-up at Cospicua H.Q. during the carnival weekend.9 cubs attended for this camp together Akela, Baloo, Jacala, Singum, Keneu and Adelaide.
Whilst other cub leaders visited the camp for a short period of time.
This camp is just for the Link Badgers for a
purpose, this way the cubs who are currently working on their Link Badge can train, work and prepare
for when they gain their Link Badge and start with the Troop Section.
The camp started on Friday at around 6.00pm where all the cubs settled in their camps and started with the programme.
We ended the evening with a Night Hike which was a little bit different from the usual route and a little bit longer.
First night went by fine and everyone we up on their feet early to continue with the programme. Different lectures were planned and
then an open fire cooking followed where the cubs prepare their food and cooked it on the open fire which they themselves build up.
All the hygiene and health and safety regulations were explained beforehand which every cub seemed to take notice off. Showers followed as
everyone smelled like burned sausages after the open fire cooking.
Then, it was time for the SL and ASL to pay a visit. This time was very important, as the SL and ASL got to familiarise with the Link Badge Cubs
and the Cubs got a good idea of what the Troop Section actually involves.
Then the carnival party took place were we ate different cakes, biscuits and other pastries while playing different games and
dancing to lovely music which was continually played during the party. After the party everyone was looking forward to bedtime where every cub
slept all through the night and early morning.
Time for Sunday breakfast and as soon as everyone was ready from breakfast it was time to start preparing to go home.
All the tents were strike by the cubs with the watching eyes of the leaders and the equipment was all set-up in the van to leave home.
11.00am was up and everyone said their goodbyes.
Although this camp was a training camp for the Link Badgers we managed to have fun as well.
All the cubs together with their leaders look forward to the next Link Badge Training Camp.
