| A
joint hike from Manikata to Xemxija was organised with the
St. Julians Pack. We met at the Manikata Church were we
introduced all leaders and all cubs. It was nice to see
that some cubs new each other from school but never knew
they were united in the same brotherhood of cubs.
We started our walk from Manikata Church.
It was a windy day and at the beginning of the hike we were
blessed my god by some rain……the usual for the
Buga Cubs. After some walking in the country side, we stopped
among the trees where we cooked our own lunches on an open
fire. This was fun and served as practice for those cubs
who are doing the silver and gold arrow. During this hike
the Silver Arrow did their “Nature Hike” where
we observed the positive and the negative things around
us and made a discussion on how we can improve our environment.
Before we moved on we had some fun playing games, and the
two packs had more time to socialise together. Unfortunately
time flies when you are having fun and we had to move on.
We continued our walk following a tracking trail which was
prepared while we were playing games by Buga Hathi and St
Julians Bagheera and with the help of Link Badgers. This
trail was done by all but it was mainly for the Bronze Arrowers
for their Tracking Signs Session. We split the two packs
into 5 small groups and each group moved along the trail.
At around 1500hrs we stopped at Xemxija
where the private was waiting for us. It was a very enjoyable
activity and we hope we have more with the St Julians Pack. |
