Scouts can earn achievement badges
on three different levels:
The Standard Badge
This makes up your first important individual challenge.
To earn it you can follow your choice of interesting hobbies,
sports and activities, including:
· Weekend camping · Model aircraft ·
Swimming & lifesaving · Conservation ·
Canoeing· First aid · Art · Hiking
· Bike hikes ·
The Advanced Badge
Add these new skills and earn a second badge:
· Helping in an emergency· Hiking at night
· Canoeing· Cooking· Flying.
The Chief Scout Award
The highest level of achievement award, involving:
· Light aircraft flights · Navigating by sun
and stars· Survival camp · Building a suspension
bridge· Rescues · Writing to a Scout pen-friend.
PROFICIENCY BADGES
Proficiency Badges provides the opportunity for the Scout
to achieve recognition in a wide area of choices. The range
of badges is designed in such a way that they can be achieved
outside the Programme if necessary. Badges cater for varied
interests and talents, which when awarded, acknowledge the
scout's involvement inside and outside scouting.
