Weekend camp + mate 18/19/20th May 2007

This type of camp was the first for the troop and it was very well planned ahead by our troop leaders and scouts.  Each of our troop members invited one of their friends to join us for this weekend, making up a healthy number of thirty eight persons for this camp.

For the benefit of the new comers, we tackled campsite safety, scouting history and basic knotting.  On Friday night we even had time to do a sinnet - small keychain. On Saturday we had an interesting talk concerning Med ecology.   Everyone enjoyed the games, especially the water games we did on Saturday afternoon.  But the highlight of this camp was the campfire.  We invited all the parents.  The scouts, mates and leaders were very well prepared and we had a memorable campfire, with good stunts, various songs and dances, as well as a PowerPoint presentation of most of the photos we took during the camp.

Sunday was packing time and striking of tents.  We had some time for evaluation.  Needless to say everyone wanted an encore for 2008 !!!
