The troop section organized a treasure hunt in Mdina for
parents and scouts. The following is some of the feedback
we got from parents:
We met at Mdina gate at 2.30pm. I was looking forward to
this treasure hunt because in the back old days, I loved
treasure hunts and it has been some 25 years since I
participated in one. Unfortunately, due to a severe asthma
attack I couldn't take part in all the fun, and I had to
stay with Josephine and Yanika (SL and ASL) walking around
until 4.30pm, which was the finishing time. The groups had
to start from the south gate although not every body knew
where the south gate is. In treasure hunts you have to play
the part of Sherlock Holmes, observe and study the clues
carefully so that nothing will be missed. Coming to the end
of the hunt a couple of mothers gave up and ended at the
meeting place before time. I guess the topless ladies’ clue
gave the parents a hard time to find (maybe because they
were made of stone). The children named the two giants at
the entrance of the Cathedral Museum GSL and Baloo and
everybody laughed about the joke. Well after all it was
great fun and I hope there will be another one like it in
the future. Maybe then I will be well enough to take part
in it. A treasure hunt in the old silent city has a lot to
tell behind its great walls full of history. Well done and
thanks to all the parents and most of all to Josephine and
Yanika.

Once again the B’Buga Scouts Group has shown to be a very
organized group. The Treasure hunt held on Sunday 25th by
the Troop Section was very well planned and involved a nice
group of Children and Parents split up into six groups. The
instructions were very well prepared and the two hours of
roaming around the Old City of Mdina were a thrill of
Historical Information and observations. As parents we can
honestly say that some of the things we had to look for
during this treasure hunt we never knew about or observed
before even though we probably visited this city a hundred
times before. This activity served not only to have fun but
also to learn more and get to know better other parents.
Definitely a nice afternoon !! Hopefully the Scouts Group
is also encouraged to organize other similar activities in
the near future. Thanks to all those who organized,
particularly Josephine & Yanika.

I would like to show my appreciation regarding last Sunday’s
Treasure Hunt for the Parents together with our children
which surely was a great success. The event was interesting
and informative and all of us gained a lot of knowledge
from the set of questions we were asked. Personally,
although my husband and I visit Imdina quite frequently as
we like it a lot, we had never noticed most of the small,
interesting things we had to look for to answer the
questions. This fact surely made us realise as parents how
much general knowledge our children are gaining from these
activities, thanks to you leaders.
All in all, it surely was an enjoyable and memorable
experience for all of us parents, and hope that another
Treasure Hunt is in your agenda for the near future.
