This camp
was held at the Birżebbuġa Scout Group HQ and was for all
Patrol Leaders and Ventures. JOTI stands for Jamboree On The
Internet. This is an international weekend were all scouts
from the world meet by means of chatting.
We began
our work by pitching the tents necessary for us to sleep in.
After we had dinner, performed the necessary duties and then
went on the computers to chat with scouts around the world.
Chatting went on till 11.00pm since then we went to sleep in
our tents.
Once
awaken, and after checking the condition of our tent we went
to eat breakfast. On this day the use of the computers were
for the Cubs (morning) and the rest of the Scouts
(afternoon). In this way, each member of our Scout Group had
the opportunity to chat with International Scouts.
In the
meantime, we Patrol Leaders had a lecture about Patrol
leadership, addressed by the Scout Commissioner Mr.Kevin
Camilleri. We were also asked to work out some tricky, brain
teaser games.
At noon we
had our lunch and soon after the Scout patrols began
arriving at the HQ…online chatting and online chatting!
Dinner preparations were carried out and after performing
our duties we lit a small fire and stood around it
discussing and then went off to sleep.
On Sunday,
we woke at 6.00am and went to listen to the 7.00am mass at
Bengħisa chapel. Once arrived back at our campsite, we ate
our breakfast and spent some time on the JOTI. Before noon,
the tents were struck and all of our stuff was packed. After
lunch, the Computers were disconnected and stored away.
