Sunday 16th December was a historic day for our
group since we had the investiture for quite a good number of members. The
investiture took place at our Head quarters in Birzebbuga and the event started
at around 10:00am
The weather was not in our favour and rain visited frequently
but still the event was held. We kicked off the event by the presentation of the
WOOD BADGE to 7 leaders namely

Roberta Ann Cassar
- Unit Section
Yanika Spiteri
- Troop Section
Lorraine Pace - Pack Section
Omar Livori
- Pack Section
Edward Busuttil - Beavers Section
Marlene Busuttil
- Beavers Section
After this event, it was time for new leaders to be invested
in as Scouts members. These new leaders are
Adelaide Azzopardi - Pack Section
Raymond Abdilla - Troop Section
Soon after another group of cubs and scouts were also invested
as new scout members. The event finished with a number of cubs having achieved
the link badge and promoted to the troop section and also another member
achieving the link badge to join the venture unit. For this historic event we
were honoured with the presence of Mr. Leslie Bonnici – Training Commissioner
who together with our GSL Mr. Jesmond Borg chaired the investiture. Also
invited for this ceremony was our District Commissioner Mr. Martin Bonnici, but
unfortunately could not attend since he was sick.
Immediately after the investiture, mass was held for all those
present, who counted to approximately 150 persons, followed by lunch which was
professionally prepared by the council members. The day was over at around
5:00pm.
A great thank you goes to all those who attended this
function, especially to all leaders and council members who helped so that this
event could be organized.
